The
IEC 61508/61511 application tool for:
• Modelling and solving
complex functions
• Using components,
assemblies and subsystems
• Rapid solution of
complex system designs
• PFD calculation of
diverse elements
• PFD calculation of
complex functions
• PFD calculation of
multiple protection layers
• Solving serial and
parallel networks
• Exporting results
to SILClass™ or SILLopa™
• Producing comprehensive
output reports
• Providing database
integrity and audit trail
This application
has been independently third party validated.
The
SILCalc™ application contains the following functionality:
A user pre-defined library of components and sub-system failure rates to enable
rapid model building.
The configuration
of Assemblies (series combinations of components) using selected
Components and the calculation of Assembly failure rates.
Assemblies and Components can be configured into Sub-systems.
Modelling
and calculating the PFD of complex systems starting at component
level. Systems can then be made up of the various Sub-systems
and these can then be assigned to functional Groups, taking
common mode influences into consideration at each stage.
Models
can range from simple diverse elements to complex functionality
comprising connectivity with multiple serial and parallel
paths. Models can also include elements of other technologies.
Voted (MooN)
configuration of Components or Assemblies can be assigned
to Sub-systems which can be connected together in a series,
parallel or any combination to form the complex system.
Configuration
Sub-systems into Groups with user defined ‘constraints’,
which are automatically applied to each system state (Where
a ‘state’ is a specific combination of sub-systems
or Groups which are either healthy or failed) to reduce or
eliminate the need for the user to define each state condition.
When the
model is complete the application will automatically calculate
the complex system PFD, and iterative optimisation of test
and maintenance strategies can be performed efficiently.
The
following access levels are provided:
1. Administrator
to add users and allocate their passwords.
2. Individual
user for access to all functionality (excluding user and
password allocation) and configurable data, including reliability
data.
